Villa dell’Orologio is undoubtedly the most impactful volume of the entire Villa Reale complex, with its 4,800 square meters and the spectacular stables that, at the time of Elisa Bonaparte, were designed to house up to 50 horses and more than 15 carriages. Villa dell’Orologio was the true operational hub of the estate, hosting the large kitchens connected to Villa Reale by an underground tunnel.
Every detail of the façades has been carefully reconstructed with great attention to detail, cleaning and integrating the central element while preserving the original chromatic palette. The large central clock, from which the villa takes its name, features a six-hour dial typical of early 17th-century timepieces, and has been restored with its original Roman numerals and single hand. The original internal mechanism has also been restored and remains fully functional today.
